Seventh ASEF University, Barcelona, Spain, November 2002
Thirty-five (35) students from 32 universities in 23 ASEM partner countries participated at the 7th ASEF University (AU7) in Barcelona. The programme was organised in collaboration with the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Fundació CIDOB and Casa Asia. In recognition of the important developments that are taking place towards greater regionalism and regional integration in both Asia and Europe, the theme of the Seventh ASEF University was "Regionalism in Asia and Europe and Significance for Asia-Europe Relations".
The academic programme was organised around three modules designed to provide students with a better understanding of: (a) Key Issues in Regionalism; (b) Trends towards Regionalism in Asia and Europe; and (c) Implications of Recent Regional Developments for Asia-Europe Relations.
